Our Mission

ReadWithADHD was created as a free resource to in response to lack of accessibility for neurodiverse readers in the current publishing landscape. Our goals include:

Empowering Readers

Equipping both readers and parents of ADHD children with the knowledge and tools needed to improve their reading experience.

Aiding Understanding

Uplifting the current research that explains how ADHD affects both adults and children when reading, as well as what can be done to help.

Improving Accessibility

Creating solutions for ADHD readers, and making them free to use for both individuals and publishers.

About the Founder

Emma Whittenham is an avid reader with ADHD. She began to notice the lack of understanding of ADHD within the publishing industry, which inspired her to pursue her MA in Publishing at Kingston University as a Stationers’ Foundation Bursary Recipient.

Wanting to create something that would help both readers personally, as well as aid publishers in being more accessible, she created ReadWithADHD as her end of year practical project. This included creating a website filled with resources for readers and parents of children with ADHD, as well as creating a free to use ADHD-Friendly style guide for publishers.
